Oostad legal

Terms of Service

Last updated: July 25, 2026

These Terms govern use of the Oostad website, iOS and Android apps, learning services, messaging, subscriptions and teacher tools.

1. Accounts and age eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create, claim, or use a direct Oostad account. We may ask direct student account holders to confirm that they are 13 or older, but we do not require a full date of birth for that confirmation.

A learner under 13 may use Oostad only through a profile managed by their parent or legal guardian. An under-13 learner may not independently sign in, send messages, upload recordings, claim a learner code, purchase a subscription, or otherwise operate the learner identity.

2. Parent-managed learners

A parent or guardian who accepts responsibility for a younger learner represents that they are authorised to do so. The parent controls the learner profile, data choices and access. Oostad may preserve and transfer the learner's existing courses, progress, homework, messages, teacher relationships and valid subscription access into the parent-managed relationship.

Parents must keep their own account secure and provide accurate contact and relationship information. Contact support if a learner reaches 13 and should be considered for direct access; reactivation may require parent approval or support review.

3. Learning, messages and recordings

Oostad provides Quran learning tools, courses, practice, homework, teacher feedback, classroom features, messages and reports. Messaging is limited to managed learning and support relationships. Audio recordings and transcripts may be processed to provide pronunciation, grading, homework and teacher-review features as described in our Privacy Policy.

4. Subscriptions and payments

Oostad Basic includes all self-paced courses without a subscription or payment card. Plus and Pro are optional paid plans for human teacher feedback and live support. Prices, renewal, cancellation, refunds and the payment provider are shown in the relevant purchase flow. Parents may purchase or manage paid support for a learner. Teachers may have separate payout or storage terms. You must not use a learner identity to avoid age, payment or account controls.

5. Acceptable use and safety

You must use Oostad lawfully and respectfully. You must not harass others, share unlawful or harmful content, impersonate another person, attempt to bypass eligibility or relationship controls, interfere with security, scrape private content, or disrupt the service. We may restrict or suspend access to protect users, comply with law, investigate misuse, or enforce these Terms.

6. Privacy, deletion and changes

Our Privacy Policy explains the information we process, including parent-managed learner progress, recordings, messages and educational data. Account and learner deletion may be subject to identity verification and limited legal, billing, safety or audit retention.

We may update these Terms when the service or legal requirements change. Material changes will be published with a revised date. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated Terms where permitted by law.
